Longtime Firefighter, Baseball Coach From Westchester Dies A beloved firefighter, baseball coach, and Navy veteran from Northern Westchester is being remembered for his longstanding dedication to helping his community.  Banksville resident Preston Pratley died on Monday, May 27 at the age of 79, according to his obituary.  Born in 1944, Pratley was born in Greenwich and later moved to Banksville after marrying his wife, Geraldine Kerslake, in May 1968.  A graduate of St. Mary's High School in Greenwich, Pratley was a Navy veteran who also became a proud member of Local #38, Sheet Metal Workers.  He was also…

Portions of Sleepy Hollow Road between Route 9 and Sleepy Hollow Road Ext. in the town of Mount Pleasant will close to traffic between 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 and early Thursday morning, May 30, the Mount Pleasant Police Department announced. 19-Year-Old Charged In Stabbing At Westchester Residence A 19-year-old man faces criminal charges after allegedly stabbing a victim at a Northern Westchester home, police said. The assault leading to the arrest happened on Wednesday, May 22, when a victim was stabbed during a domestic incident at a Somers residence, New York State Police announced on Tuesday, May 28.
