Wrong-Way Crash: Bar Receipts, Social Media Lead To Arrest After Woman, 25, Killed In Danbury
A months-long investigation aided by bar receipts and social media posts led to the arrest of a man in connection with a wrong-way alleged drunk driving Connecticut crash that took the life of a young Fairfield County woman.
The crash happened on Route 7 in Danbury around 2 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 in the southbound lane just north of Exit 7.
The victim, Danielle Dempsey, age 25, of Danbury, was driving a gray 2005 Honda Accord when a black 2018 Dodge Challenger driving in the wrong direction struck her vehicle head-on, Connecticut State Police said.

A man wanted for a Fairfield County carjacking and an attempted carjacking has been captured by police.
New Haven County resident Tyssan Woods, age 18, of Waterbury, was arrested on Tuesday, May 14, for the Thursday, March 28 incident on Westport Avenue.
According to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police, the department received a call around 5 a.m., March 28, for an attempted carjacking at gunpoint in the area of Westport Avenue.

Man Cashes Thousands In Checks Stolen From Mailboxes In Wilton, Police Say
A 35-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly stealing checks from Fairfield County mailboxes and changing the amount before cashing them.
New York City resident Boris Vivies, age 35, of the Bronx, was arrested on Tuesday, May 7, for the incident in Wilton in September 2022.
According to Lt. Anna Tornello of the Wilton Police, officers received complaints that checks had been stolen from mailboxes, altered, and then cashed for $4,000.
An extensive investigation found that Vivies was responsible for thefts, and an arrest warrant was issued.

A large amount of drugs and cash were seized, and numerous arrest warrants were served following an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Agency and local police in Fairfield County.
The warrants were executed in Norwalk and Darien on Monday, April 29, by the Norwalk Police, Stamford Police, Darien Police, US Marshals Service, and the Bridgeport Office of the DEA.

Dae Jesus Acosta, age 24, of Central Falls, Rhode Island, was arrested around 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 29, in Darien for a road rage incident.
According to Connecticut State Police, a tow truck driver called 911 after Acosta, who was trying to merge onto I-95 in Darien, in front of the truck slowed down to 5 mph and then pointed what looked like a gun at the driver. He kept following the car for several miles.

A Connecticut man has been charged with the alleged shooting death of a Fairfield County teenager.
New Haven County resident Kiheem Tyquan Benbow, age 21, of Ansonia, was charged on Friday, April 26, with killing a 17-year-old, Romain Sterling, a Bridgeport resident.
