CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. -- Clinton Calabrese of Cliffside Park on Thursday was sworn into the state Assembly, making him the youngest New Jersey lawmaker at 31 years old.
Calabrese has replaced Democrat Marlene Caride, a new Murphy nominee to serve as commissioner of the NJ Department of Banking and Insurance.
Clinton is a former member of the borough's Board of Education and will represent New Jersey's 36th legislative district.
His grandfather, Gerald Calabrese, Sr., played for the Syracuse Nationals (Philadelphia 76ers) of the NBA in the 1950s, later serving as Cliffside Park mayor and Bergen County Democratic chairman, NJ.com reports.
His father, Gerald Calabrese Jr., is currently the chairman of the Cliffside Park Democratic Party, and his uncle Thomas Calabrese is currently the borough's mayor, the article says.
