For the second year in a row, the school teamed with the non-profit The Big Gift of Christmas to brighten the holidays for area families through its Giving Tree program.

“We often don’t realize the struggles of the families right next door,” said the school’s owner Anthony Vassallo. “It feels good to be able to provide them with those necessities that many of us take for granted.”

Families submitted wish lists, and Goddard family members pulled wish list tags off the school’s Giving Tree and purchased those items to be donated to the families. Goddard families, local businesses and vendors also raised more than $3,000 that went toward Christmas trees and decorations, and full Boston Market dinners for the families.

When it came time to deliver the items, police escorts were provided by the Cliffside Park and Fairview Police Departments, and community members showed up with the donations, as well as Christmas trees, lights and more to decorate each families’ home.
