FORT LEE, N.J. — New York Mets relief pitcher Jeurys Familia who last year was charged with domestic violence in Fort Lee has been suspended suspended for 15 games without pay for violating the MLB's policies, multiple sources report.
Familia was suspended for violating the league's joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child-abuse policy, MLB.com reports. His suspension begins on Opening Day and stems from an October 2016 assault charge, MLB.com says.
Familia's wife, Bianca Rivas, is a Clifton native.
