CRESSKILL, N.J. -- Cresskill High School hosted the third annual New Jersey High School Film Festival on Thursday, May 19.

The Festival screened a selection of short films submitted by high-school students from the tri-state area.

The films -- in the categories of comedy, nonfiction, PSA, music video, animation, experimental and the themed category "Tomorrow is Another Day" -- reflected the stories, styles and experiences of teenagers today.

The winners are as follows:

  • Animation: "Pencil" by Alexa Petersen, grade nine, Point Pleasant Borough High School
  • Comedy: "Extraordinary" by Bernie Torres, grade 12 Howell High School
  • Nonfiction Profile: "Eva Choi" by Eva Choi, grade 10 Cresskill High School
  • PSA: "Bus Safety PSA" by Victoria Lovaglio, grade 12 Jackson Liberty High School
  • Music Video: "Let’s Disappear" by Ruslan Volyar, grade 12 Millburn High School

This year's finalists were selected by a jury of professionals in the field of media and production. Prizes were given to the finalists in each category.
