DEMAREST, N.J. -- There will be a "Parade of Champions" on Friday, June 17, to celebrate the Northern Valley Demarest girls softball group 2 state champions and Michael Rozenvasser, the boys tennis state champion.

"Come and celebrate these athletes for their great achievements," organizers note.

Here are optimal viewing areas:

  • in Demarest -- downtown Demarest, lining the streets of Hardenburgh Avenue
  • in Closter -- Borough Hall on Vervalen Street or Memorial Park at Harrington Avenue
  • in Haworth -- Haworth Avenue, lining the street, and the median by Haworth Pond

The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. sharp, from Northern Valley Demarest High School, 150 Knickerbocker Rd., in Demarest.

From the high school, the route will head south on Knickerbocker Road, take a left onto Hardenburgh, a left onto Piermont Road and a left onto Vervalen. The route will then take a left on Knickerbocker Road, a right onto Durie Avenue, a left on Valley Road and a right onto Haworth Avenue. The route then turns right on Maple Street, right on Lakeshore Drive, which becomes Durie Avenue, then right onto Knickerbocker, back to the high school.
