The district held a pilot virtual day on Feb. 29. Students used laptops while faculty proctored the classroom, NorthJersey.com reported.

The idea of a virtual school day was implemented in an attempt to keep productivity up when a teacher or student is unable to attend school, NorthJersey.com said.
