Officer Denny Knubel was working security during the Raiders' 21-14 win over the visiting Spartans when he spotted trouble, Capt. John Bakelaar said.

Knubel took Luke Schmitzer into custody on simple assault charges, he said.

"At this point, there is no indication in the reports that a complaint will be filed against the juvenile," Bakelaar said.

First-seeded Ramapo (9-2) advanced to the NJSIAA football championship game against the second-seeded River Dell Golden Hawks (10-1). A date hadn't immediately been set.
