BEYOND BERGEN: An upstate New York man who told police he’s diabetic was carrying more than three-quarters of an ounce of heroin when they found him shaking and sweating at the Port Authority bus terminal in midtown Manhattan yesterday.
Ricardo Castellar, 24, told officers who asked if he needed medical attention that he had candy in his bag, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said this morning.
When he opened it to show them, they said, they spotted several small folds.
Castellar “volunteered that he had heroin in his pants pocket and shorts,” Pentangelo said.
He was charged with drug possession.
