River Vale police responded to the Rivervale Road club along with member of the borough Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Hackensack University Medical Center Mobile Intensive Care Unit, just before 1 p.m. Detective Sergeant John J. DeVoe told Daily Voice.

They found the 46-year-old Passaic man with his leg pinned between the staircase and the wall, DeVoe said, adding that victim had also injured his back.

Police summoned borough volunteer firefighters, who used an airbag and cutting tools to free him, the sergeant said.

He was taken to HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley in Westwood, he said.
