The gate at Wyckoff Reformed Church blocks an access road through a cemetery parking lot and adjoining Everett Avenue.

"On occasion, the gate is open and cars use it as a cut through," Wyckoff Police Chief David Murphy told Daily Voice.

The Audi plowed through the gate around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, damaging it and causing damage to the car.

It continued into the lot and left onto westbound Wyckoff Avenue toward Route 208, a witness said.

Wyckoff police asked that anyone who might have seen something or has information that can help the investigation call them at (201) 891-2121.
