Eugeonce S. Coleman, 25, was tracked down and arrested on Saturday, less than a week after the Aug. 13 shooting, which occurred just before 3 a.m. outside 226 17th Avenue in the city’s 5th Ward, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Deputy Paterson Police Chief Heriberto Rodriguez said in a joint release.

The victim, a 29-year-old woman, was treated at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center Hospital in Paterson for a single gunshot wound, they said.

Besides attempted murder, Coleman is charged with aggravated assault and various weapons counts – including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, they said.

If convicted, Coleman faces several years in state prison – having already served a plea-bargained 18 months for shooting the teen in the back in June 2014 following another weapons arrest three years earlier, records show.

A judge on Monday ordered that Coleman remain held without bail in the Passaic County Jail pending the outcome of the new case.
