CRESSKILL, NJ — Cresskill police expect more than a dozen male officers and dispatchers to participate in No Shave November, a campaign to raise awareness about men's physical and mental health.
“We’re going to see the bushiest beard, the most awkward beard, but the most important thing is it’s for a great cause,” Capt. Joseph Trumbetti said
The national event now includes more than1,700 groups participating to bring attention to men’s health and prostate cancer.
With the approval of Chief Edward Wrixon, Cresskill officers are allowed to grow beards and facial hair as long as they maintain a professional appearance and not let it get in the way of their duties.
“Each day we get a chuckle," Trumbetti said. "We get to see how it progresses each day on the individual.”
