Canadian Cyclist Struck In Closter, Airlifted To Humc

CLOSTER, N.J. -- A 22-year-old Canadian visiting friends in Passaic was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center after he was struck in Closter this afternoon by an SUV driven by an 85-year-old Cresskill man while riding a bicycle.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Durie and Columbus avenues.

The bicyclist sustained injuries to his head, back, and hand after being struck at Durie and Columbus just before 3:30 p.m.

The driver remained at the scene.

Police were investigating.
