CRESSKILL, N.J. -- Joseph DePalma, 96, of Cresskill, passed away at home Thursday, March 17, 2016.
He was born in Harlem, N.Y. and raised in the Bronx, N.Y.
DePalma was the husband of the late Antoinette (DeMaio); father of Louise and her husband Christopher Knight, and Vincent and his husband Michael Blank; grandfather of Jacqueline, Joseph and Justin Knight; and "Pop" to his dogs Gracie and Luke.
DePalma loved his red wine, his onions and any food you served him, and was certain it was what kept him happy and healthy for so long -- “mangia e statti zitto.”
The family will receive family and friends on from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. A funeral Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Church, 120 Monroe Ave., Cresskill. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories in Paramus.
