CLOSTER, N.J. — The Department of Community Affairs is continuing its efforts to seize Closter's COAH funds, northjersey.com reported.
The DCA on Oct. 8 filed for an extension to file an appeal of Superior Court Judge Menelaos W. Toskos' decision blocking its attempt to seize the borough's Council On Affordable Housing funds, Borough Attorney Edward Rogan told northjersey.com .
Gov. Christie in 2012 attempted to seize municipal COAH funds and was blocked by the Appellate Division of the Superior Court, northjersey.com reported.
The DCA says it's justified to act because the borough failed to adhere to trust fund commitment regulations, northjersey.com reports.
