With no budget plan agreement reached between the State Legislature and Gov. Chris Christie, the New Jersey government was shut down at midnight on Friday.
That means several agencies will remain closed until an agreement is reached including state parks (Liberty State Park/Island Beach State Park), MVC agencies, tourist welcome centers and more.
Agencies that are not affected by the shutdown include state police, state correction facilities, child welfare services, state hospitals/treatment facilities, NJ Transit, state lottery, casinos and any agencies that would impact the health and welfare of citizens.
