CRESSKILL, N.J. -- Happy birthday to David Broza, formerly of Cresskill.
The singer, songwriter and activist was born Sept. 4, 1955 in Haifa, Israel.and turns 61 on Sunday.
He and his first wife Ruti raised their three children in in Cresskill from 1984 to 2001. He is now married to famed clothing designer Nili Lotan of Manhattan.
A troubadour of three cultures—Israeli, American and Spanish—he's released over 32 albums in three languages. When he performs in Israel, he's mobbed by fans and is considered their Bruce Springsteen.
Broza was raised in England and Spain and attended Runnymede College in Madrid. His grandfather, Wellesley Aron, co-founded the Arab-Israeli peace settlement.
He was appointed a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF and "Together" was the theme song for the its 50th anniversary celebration in more than 148 countries.
He makes his home in Tribeca and Tel Aviv but travels worldwide, performing over 200 concerts a year.
