The two-day event, held at Paramus High School, started the evening of Friday, June 10 and concluded the morning of Saturday, June 11.

At the opening ceremony, the Valley team was presented with a special award from the American Cancer Society for Valley's 15 consecutive years of participation in relays through Bergen County. Over the past 15 years, the Valley team has raised more than $250,000.

Relay For Life is a community fundraising walk to raise money for cancer research and various programs that support cancer survivors. Members of each team camp out around a track and take turns walking around the track for a certain length of time. Ceremonies are held to honor those who have been lost to cancer, those who have fought cancer in the past, and to support those whose fight continues. Relay For Life events are held annually in communities across the country.

Along with individual fundraising efforts and the relay, Valley held various team fundraising events throughout the year, including a basketball tournament, a Zumba event, an Origami Owl sale and the extremely popular "Work-Day Tricky Tray" event.
