CLOSTER, N.J.– The Food Assistance Board and Food Pantry's October yard sale is on the horizon.
The fourth annual town-wide sale – a rain or shine event – will take place Oct. 14-16.
Residents can register online here or in person at the tax office inside borough hall.
Participants are asked to provide a non-refundable donation of $20 per residential address with the registration form.
The $20 will go directly to the Food Assistance Board and Food Pantry, organizers said. The money covers advertising. Permit fees will be waived.
The registration deadline is Oct. 11.
After registration, all participant's addresses and details of his or her sale will be included on a map, which will be available on or before Oct. 13.
The map will be accessible at the borough website or at the following locations:
- D’Amico’s Farm (460 Demarest Ave.);
- Ward’s 5&10 (210 Closter Dock Road);
- Ray’s Pizza (284 Closter Dock Road);
- Closter Library (280 High Street);
- Closter Borough Hall tax office (295 Closter Dock Road).
"Bargain shoppers love nothing more than spending the day treasure hunting in a town that is hosting a different sale around every corner," organizers said.
Over the past six years, the number of households that the Closter Food Pantry serves on a regular basis has almost quadrupled, according to the organization.
