CLOSTER, N.J. -- If you've never been to Bareburger, you're in for moderately priced, wholesome, organic and innovative food, says the manager of the restaurant coming soon to Closter.
The establishment is under construction at 129 Vervalen Street and slated to open by the end of the month or beginning of January, said Angela DeMaio.
"Aside from our food being organic, all natural, we try to be local, are all sustainable."
The franchise offers the same menu highlights and philosophy - "to serve good food to keep people healthy" - its five founders envisioned when they opened the first Bareburger in Queens in 2008, she said.
"All of our food is organic and all-natural, free-range meats are grass-fed and pasture raised, and it will be open every day for lunch and dinner."
Animals raised in a "natural environment" taste better, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.
Patrons can build your own burger or choose from an array of specialties like El Matador, which is bison on a brioche bun with cheese, jalapenos, and guacamole, among toppings, while a vegan option is called, Guadalupe a black bean burger with alfalfa, guacamole, tomatoes and onions, on a sprout bun.
The menu features appetizers, salads, sandwiches and "Shares," which include onion rings, sweet potato and regular fries, "Crispy Brussel Sprouts," and special dipping sauces, among many choices.
Closter's "small town" feel and its location in a brand new shopping plaza, next to Whole Foods, will nicely accommodate the new restaurant, the manager said.
"It's a pretty unique spot."
Family outings and date nights will blend nicely here, according to DeMaio.
"We're a very family-friendly place and we also cater to all (ages). We have a full liquor license so will draw a younger crowd too," DeMaio said.
The restaurant will have outdoor seating.
